Making a Purchase at Saco River Auction is Simple

You’ve found the perfect item- in our online catalogs on our website, or from another form of advertisement. You have decided that you want to try to purchase that item by bidding on it during our live online sale or online in absentee bid format, and you are ready to bid, here’s how you do it,

Here are the general steps:

1. Register through one of our platform, IE Invaluable, Hibid, Auctionzip Or Live Auctioneers

2. Read and Agree to the terms and conditions of the sale including buyers premium.
3. Bid on and Win your items!
4. Receive your invoice the day after the sale with shipping calculated for you.

5. Pay for your invoice immediately and your items will ship directly to you within a few days.

Absentee Bids / Written Bids / Commission Bids / Order Bids / Left Bids

If you are unable to attend the auction via absentee or online bidding or you are not comfortable navigating the computer, you are able to call in your bids, which we will be happy to execute for you. Bear in mind, we cannot bid on every lot for you and will not take absentee bids on lots under $100.

Buyer’s Premium & Tax

Please note that Saco River Auction’s Buyer’s Premium and any local taxes will be payable on successful bids. Thus the “hammer price” – the actual winning bid – is smaller than the amount the purchaser will pay. Consult a staff member for more information before placing a bid. The buyer’s premium at Saco River Auction Co. auctions is set at 18%. Please Note that the only site where the buyers premium is 18% is Hibid. Invaluable, Auction zip and Live Auctioneers are all 23% because they charge a 5% Premium for using their software. Payment For Winning purchases must be paid within 48 hours upon receiving an invoice and can be made via check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, PayPal, Amex or by money order.

If you pay by check/credit and require that your item be shipped to you, we ask for your patience as your purchase will be released upon notice that your check/credit has cleared. We reserve the right to decline payments received from anyone other than the invoiced party.

Any checks returned for insufficient funds will be penalized a $30.00 processing fee.

Pickup and Delivery

Upon successful payment, purchases may be picked up at our store. We Ship in house world wide at your expense. We always look for the most cost effective safe shipping method to save you money. We do not charge you handling fees. All Shipping quotes on invoices do have insurance.
